princess_eugenie_moves_to_new_york_highsocietytimes23-year-old Princess Eugenie, the Queen’s second youngest granddaughter, is moving to New York in October of 2013. The move is caused by Princess Eugenie being hired to work at Paddle8, an art auction house owned by Alexander Gilkes. Alexander Gilkes and his brother Charlie Gilkes are good friends of the royals.

Princess Eugenie will be leaving behind her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, for a spell but the two are planning to visit whenever possible and the princess will return to London when Paddle8 opens a new office there. Princess Eugenie earned her degree at Newcastle in Art History and English Literature. Previously she has been utilizing her degree during work for auction house Christie’s and at the Royal Collection in Buckingham Palace.

The princess is sure to socialize with Hilary Rhoda, Lauren Bush Lauren, and the Hiltons perhaps by getting cocktails at the fashionable SoHo House or The Standard. Pippa Middleton also enjoys hanging out in Manhattan, so Princess Eugenie should have plenty of people to introduce her to New York and keep her busy.

Fergie and Tennis Ace Open School in Serbia

Fergie_and_Tennis_ace_open_school_in_serbiaOn September 16, 2013, tennis star Novak Djokovic and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, opened a primary school for underprivileged children in the Serbian town of Kadina Luka. Sarah Ferguson flew into Belgrade the night before where she was met by Novak Djokovic. The Novak Djokovic Humanitarian Foundation aims to improve the lives of needy Serbian children and it was founded by the tennis champ in 2007. The Duchess is an ambassador for the Foundation and believes in seeing the work of the Foundation first hand as opposed to just attending fancy parties.

Fewer than 44 percent of children in Serbia between the ages of three and a half and five attend school, so the new school should make quite an impact on childhood education. This is the first school that has been refurbished under the Foundation’s project Skolica Zivota (Little School of Life). Novak Djokovic was seen planting trees while Sarah Ferguson entertained the crowd of dozens of schoolchildren. The Duchess was all smiles throughout the day. When not helping with charities, Sarah Ferguson has a successful career as a television personality and writer.
