Recently married Swedish princess Madeleine announced in early September of 2013 that she is expecting a child with her New York banker husband Christopher O’Neill. When the pair married in June of 2013, Mr. O’Neill opted out of a royal title choosing instead to remain a private citizen rather than be granted royal rank. Princess Madeleine moved to the United States in 2010 following the nasty collapse of her first engagement to Swedish attorney Jonas Bergstrom who was rumored to have cheated on her.
Christopher O’Neill and Princess Madeleine started dating in 2011, having first been seen together at the Central Park Boathouse. Their wedding was well-attended by celebrities such as Roxette stars Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson, Duran Duran’s John Taylor, Prince Nikolaos of Greece, and the chief executive of fashion company H&M Karl-Johan Persson. Princess Madeleine wore a couture Valentino wedding gown. The married couple currently lives in New York where Princess Madeleine works for the non-profit World Childhood Foundation founded by her mother, Queen Silvia. Continue reading
